About Neil

From the incident ground to the coaching room

Neil Odin

Neil spent his career in fire and rescue, finishing as Chief Fire Officer of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, where he led 1,900 people and a £105 million budget.

He chaired the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum and commanded the multi-agency response to COVID-19 across a population of 2.2 million.

Since then he has advised governments and fire services internationally on capability, readiness and resilience, including a specialist review whose roadmap was formally adopted by an overseas government.

His service was recognised with the Queen’s Fire Service Medal (QFSM). He also holds an MBA.

Neil is a co-active executive coach, trained by the Co-Active Training Institute (CPCC) and credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ACC). He knows from experience what senior leadership asks of a person, and what it can cost. That is the ground his coaching stands on.
